2026 — President, Dallas Builders Association

In 2026, Tim Lansford was formally installed as President of the Dallas Builders Association, following years of service through committees, councils, the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, education programs, and senior leadership.

​

For Tim, the position represents much more than another title. The Dallas Builders Association has been part of his professional life for years. It has provided friendships, education, opportunities to serve, and a connection to the builders, remodelers, developers, suppliers, and professionals who help shape housing throughout North Texas.

​

His presidential year is centered around three words that reflect that commitment:

Reconnect. Refocus. Reimagine.

2025 - Building YOUniversity Podcast

Conversations About Building Better Businesses—and Better Leaders

​

Tim started and is the host of the Building YOUniversity Podcast, where conversations extend beyond construction into leadership, accountability, communication, business, personal development, and the lessons that come from building and leading organizations.

​

The podcast grew naturally from the same work Tim has done for years as a builder, educator, trainer, and speaker.

​

2024 — Inaugural NAHB Leadership Academy

 

Tim Lansford was selected to participate in the inaugural 2024 class of the NAHB Leadership Academy, a national leadership-development program created for experienced industry leaders already engaged in service at the local, state, and national levels.

​

Launched by the National Association of Home Builders in 2024, the year-long academy was designed to strengthen leadership skills, deepen participants’ understanding of the NAHB Federation, and prepare them for expanded national leadership roles. The inaugural program included work in advocacy, communications, strategic leadership, networking, and engagement within NAHB’s national leadership structure.

2024 - The Building Code — Buildertrend

Tim joined Buildertrend’s The Building Code podcast for a conversation about relationships, networking, and the importance of community within the construction industry.

​

The discussion brought together several themes that have run throughout Tim’s career: construction, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the value of strong professional relationships. 

​

2023 — Honored Life Director

In 2023, Tim was elected an Honored Life Director of the Dallas Builders Association, recognizing his long-term commitment and service to the organization.

​

The distinction is reserved for members with sustained service to the Association, including significant tenure on its Board of Directors. For Tim, it represents years of involvement in education, leadership, advocacy, committee work, and support of the North Texas residential construction community. Dallas Builders Association

D Magazine

Tim has appeared multiple times in D Magazine coverage connected with the Dallas building industry, including coverage of the Dallas Builders Association ARC Awards, where he served as master of ceremonies.

​

2020 — NAHB Remodeler of the Month

Tim has been recognized nationally for his involvement in residential remodeling and the broader construction industry, including recognition through the National Association of Home Builders.

​

His remodeling background has remained an important part of his career because renovating an existing home requires a different kind of problem-solving—working with what is already there, understanding what should remain, and finding the best way to create what comes next.

​

2019 — Designee of the Year

Professional education has always mattered to Tim, but in 2018 and 2019 he took that commitment to another level.

​

In less than ten months, he completed more than 22 classes in six cities and earned 11 of the 13 NAHB professional designations available at the time—an accomplishment the Dallas Builders Association reported had never before been achieved in NAHB’s history.

​

He was subsequently named 2019 Designee of the Year.

​

That pursuit did not stop there. Tim now holds 14 of NAHB’s 15 professional designations, more than any other builder.

​

For Tim, however, the real value has never been the letters after his name. It is what the education allows him to bring back to the job: better questions, broader knowledge, stronger judgment, and another opportunity to improve the way projects are managed.

August 2019 — Building Savvy Magazine

Tim was featured on the cover of the August 2019 issue of Building Savvy Magazine, adding another national industry publication to a growing body of coverage surrounding his work in residential construction, professional education, and industry leadership.

​

The feature came during a period when Tim’s commitment to professional development and industry education was becoming an increasingly visible part of his career.

​

Texas Builder Magazine

Tim has also been featured in Texas Builder Magazine, the publication of the Texas Association of Builders, in recent years.

​

Those appearances reflect a larger relationship with the statewide building industry that has included association leadership, education, advocacy, workforce development, HOMEPAC involvement, and participation in the Sunbelt Builders Show.

2011 — APEX Award

Tim was honored with the APEX Award through the Dallas Builders Association in 2011.

​

The recognition marked an early milestone in what would become decades of continued involvement with the Association and the residential construction community.
